Just arrived on Xbox Live today are two new demos. Eternal Sonata from Namco Bandai is likely to satisfy all those eager for a JRPG on Microsoft\'s console, and Vampire Rain, which is, something else entirely. I personally am excited for Eternal Sonata, as I haven\'t played a JRPG in some time and it looks fantastic from previews. I\'m less excited for the universally panned Vampire Rain, where you\'re an elite special forces unit sent to thin out the vampire ranks. Impressions forthcoming.

In Lunar Knights, you take control of two different heroes, Lucian and Aaron, one powered by the sun, one powered by the moon, in an attempt to free the world from the vampiric legion. If you are familiar with the Vampire Hunter (Baktai GBA) series, you\'re already familiar with Lunar Knights. It is, however, Kojima Productions\' first foray on the Nintendo DS, and it\'s one worth a look.

They say a picture is worth a thousand words. In Portrait of Ruin, a picture is full of a thousand demons. A thousand demons about to be cut down by whips and giant crosses, that is. In the second Castlevania title for the Nintendo DS, take control of two characters and get ready to tangle with Dracula. While very much in line with the rest of the series, there are a few surprises herein for fans of the series. Castlevania: Portrait of Ruin might be right up your alley if you\'re in the mood for a good adventure game, a few puzzles, and lots of bosses.
game: Generation of Chaos

Generation of Chaos is an anime-styled tactical RPG that features, as its main selling point, massive battles with upwards of 30 combatants on each side. It sounds really cool, and tactical RPGs (think FF Tactics or Arc the Lad) can be so much fun. Unfortunately, Generaton of Chaos features so many obscure menus that it ends up being about as much fun as Microsoft Word. Be sure to check out Matt\'s review before venturing into the chaos.

Bethesda\'s Morrowind was a major RPG for PC and Xbox. So it\'s no surprise that the follow-up, Oblivion, has been one of the most highly anticipated titles of the year. After a few months\' delay, gamers have blissfully entered into Oblivion, in more than one way, and so far the game has shot to the top of the charts. The long-awaited sequel to Treasure\'s Gunstar Heroes, Gunstar Super Heroes brings the same high action gameplay to the Game Boy Advance. Released last October, Gunstar Super Heroes offers up the same quality graphics and colorful animation, but the gameplay has undergone some tweaks and changes that might leave the most hardcore of classic Gunstar Heroes fans wanting more. Konami has announced that a yet to be named Castlevania double pack will be making its way to the Game Boy Advance early next year. Two of the series most highly rated titles, Castlevania: Harmony of Dissonance and Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow, will be put on a single GBA cartridge to give players a double-dose of Dracula whippin\' fun.

game: Ubisoft Focus: Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory

Splinter Cell: Pandora Tomorrow was unique in its ability to offer a multiplayer experience that was balanced and fun even though it had completely different play dynamics depending on the side you were on. Now, Chaos Theory aims to have spies working through levels in tandem with Co-op multiplay, a slew of new gadgets, and such added features as proximity communications. Getting a guard's attention is no longer a matter of just pressing a button to whistle, but actually whistling into your communicator. Will it work? If past experience with the series is any indication, it probably will. What else does Sam have up his sleeve this year? You'll have to read the preview to find out.

SNK brings us some 2D online goodness with SNK vs. Capcom: SVC Chaos. Even still, the redundancy of the title, sluggish controls and even more sluggish online play are opponents this little fighter just can't KO. It ain't great; it ain't bad. It's thoroughly mediocre.
